Time For Trades Tour adds new Partner

Shortly after launching the informative website, with the goal of reaching not only potential sponsors but also young people who are thinking about their future, because they are our future, Craig Wigley and Graeme Boyce (co-founders of the Time for Trades Tour initiative) are proud and pleased to announce a new partner has come to the table: Professional Electrical Services.

As one of many Licensed Electrical Contractors in Ontario, Professional Electrical Services, are legally authorized to do electrical work in both homes and facilities, and qualified to perform electrical work that meets Ontario Electrical Safety Code with a valid ECRA/ESA license number.

Electrical workers in Ontario are among the trades covered by the Red Seal program, targeted by the Time For Trades Tour initiative. Specifically, the “Electrician – Construction and Maintenance” trade, as well as “Industrial Electrician” and “Electrician – Domestic and Rural,” are part of the Red Seal program in Ontario. This means that these electrical trades in Ontario have a nationally recognized standard for certification and apprenticeship.

The Red Seal program is a national certification program that sets common standards for trades across Canada, according to the Red Seal website. Designated trades are governed by regulations under the Provincial and Territorial Apprenticeship Acts. These regulations outline the administrative procedures and in some case the standards and conditions of training for specific trades (e.g. methods of registering apprentices, curriculum, accreditation, and certification).

“We are extremely happy to have PES on board,” adds Boyce, “as they’ll be at our booth and able to bridge the gap for many young Canadians, either in school or recently graduated, who’ll be asking questions throughout our tour seeking a rewarding career in the electrical trades.”
